Would you like to teach effective, easy to use techniques which will help women overcome fear, feel more in control and have a more positive birth experience?

The benefits of using hypnosis in childbirth are renowned. It is a key area of our profession wherein there is a wealth of experimental evidence to proclaim the benefits. As a consequence, the increasing demand for women wishing to use hypnosis as part of their birth in is not just sweeping Britain, but internationally.

  • easibirthing® is a UK based model which was developed in conjunction with midwives and therefore complements UK birthing practices.
  • easibirthing® receives nhs funding in parts of the country due to the evidence-base of this tried and tested model. There is currently a trial study in progress by the NHS will see more than 800 first-time mothers undergo hypnobirthing trials in hospitals in Blackburn and Burnley, in order to assess the effectiveness of the treatment. This is thought to be the biggest ever of its kind worldwide.
  • easibirthing® is a registered trademark (the only one in the UK hypnosis for birthing world!) and therefore any practitioner using this trademark has been fully trained and qualified-a reassurance for the general public.
  • The CHBPP qualification is the only hypnosis for childbirth qualification in the UK which is independently accredited (ie. by the nchp).

The National College of Hypnosis and Psychotherapy (nchp) has been offering respected, evidenced based and independently accredited Hypnotherapy Training, Hypnosis Training and Psychotherapy Training since 1977. This makes the National College one of the longest established and most respected hypnotherapy/hypno-psychotherapy training institutes in the world. Their training is UKCP and European-accredited.   • Tokophobia and fear of giving birth
  • Effect of fear and anxiety on the birthing body
  • Experimental evidence of benefits for hypnobirthing
  • Client’s history
  • Involvement of Partners
  • Preparing for Birth
  • Stage 1 of labour
  • Managing and Controlling discomfort
  • Achieving the Ideal Mental State (CCC)
  • Stage 2 of labour
  • Understanding effect of negative language
  • Birth Partner’s involvement
  • Stage 3 of labour
  • Prenatal, perinatal and postnatal bonding with your baby
  • Breastfeeding
  • Post-natal recovery
  • Medical Interventions and assisted births
  • Working with medical professionals
  • Life skills for parenthood

You will receive:
A complete course manual including scripts and strategies. Whether you aim to train clients on a one-to-one basis or in a group setting, this resource will equip you to provide clients with a knowledgeable and professional service. You will receive a specialist qualification certification from the nchp as a testament to your achievement upon successful completion of your assessment following the course. Once qualified, you will become a ‘Certified Hypnotic Birthing Process Practitioner’ and be permitted to use the designated letters CHBPP. You will also be entitled to an entry on our online Practitioners’ Directory on www.easibirthing.co.uk.

Facilitator:
Sharon Mustard has been training women and their partners for over 14 years in using Hypnosis for Childbirth. In addition to her private group courses, since 2006 she has a large contract with Salisbury District Hospital nhs Trust maternity services whereby she is funded to teach women, partners, and teenage mums-to-be; but also midwives and health care support workers to support individuals using these methods.

As well as being a specialist in hypno-psychotherapy for childbirth, she is a fully qualified Hypnotherapist, Psychotherapist, Counsellor and Life Coach and with a full-time practice in Salisbury, Wiltshire. Prior to this time, she gained extensive experience in the field of mental health: working within Social Services, National Health Service & voluntary sector.

Entry requirements:
Applicants for this course would be expected to be practising Hypnotherapists or in training to be a Hypnotherapist.

**If you are a trainee you will be expected to have attained a Hypnotherapy qualification prior to your easibirthing® certification being finalised but can attend the course in the meantime.

Structure of the course:
This is a two day course (9-5pm)

Cost:

£260. This includes a lifetime specialty certification. Payment may be spread over a period of up to four months by arrangement.

Assessment:
The course will be accompanied by a short essay question assessment which maps to the learning outcomes (to be completed following attendance of the two-day course).
