Meet The Founder

Sharon Mustard is a counsellor psychotherapist and hypnotherapist based in Salisbury UK and online

My name is Sharon Mustard. I am the founder and director of easibirthing® Fertility to Parenthood. I have been supporting women and their partners for over 27 years as a Hypnotherapist Psychotherapist and Counsellor for Fertility, Pregnancy, Hypnobirthing, Post Natal Mental Health & Parenting Support. I also run a training school for therapists who are interested in this area.

But most important of all, I am a mum of 3 children. One of whom has given me 3 lovely grandchildren so far. Now whilst that might have enabled me to have personal experience of pregnancy, giving birth and parenting; my real passion for birth came from two unlikely aspects to do with my own upbringing in Northern Ireland.

I was the daughter of a pig farmer and saw the majesty of birth first hand in the animals I witnessed; but to bring it a bit more relevant to our own species-my source of inspiration really belongs to my Grandmother who had 11 children, the other Grandmother an impressive second place with 7 children.

I ended up with 41 first cousins in total! If that doesn’t explain why my chosen specialism in counselling, psychotherapy and hypnotherapy working to support parents and those wanting to become parents on their journey to parenthood, then nothing will! Perhaps even my keen interest in scuba diving presents a metaphor for a giving birth!

As well as founding easibirthing fertility to parenthood, I am a fully qualified Hypnotherapist, Psychotherapist, Counsellor and Life Coach with a full-time general practice in Salisbury, Wiltshire, UK. Visit my practice at www.mustardtherapy.co.uk

I have been in private practice since 1996 and so you can be confident that you are consulting a highly experienced professional. Prior to this time, I gained extensive experience in the field of mental health: working within Social Services, National Health Service & voluntary sector.

As an accredited member of the ‘UK Council of Psychotherapy’, ‘United Kingdom Council of Hypnotherapy Organisations (UKCHO)‘ and of the ‘Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC)‘. I am also a registered consultant with several private health providers including BUPA and AXA PPP Healthcare. I also have the UKCP Child and Adolescent Proficiency Marker which certifies me to work with children and young people under the age of 18.

I am required to abide by their code of ethics and professional practice. This includes undertaking regular supervision, being covered by professional insurance and being committed to continued updating of my skills and training.

I am also an honorary fellow of the 'National Society for Hypnosis, Psychotherapy and Mindfulness'. In 2019 I became the first ever recipient of the 'Brookhouse and Biddle award for contribution to hypnosis and psychotherapy'.  In addition I am the appointed practitioner for South Wiltshire and West Hampshire within the 'Brookhouse Hypnotherapy Group'.
